The Abdi Dalem cultural experience in Yogyakarta invites you to immerse yourself in the daily life, attire, and etiquette of the attendants of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace on a tour lasting approximately five hours. Wear traditional Abdi Dalem clothing, learn the proper etiquette for walking and entering palace pavilions, then explore the palace grounds on a distinctive becak ride.

The program also includes a visit to the Palace conservation laboratory and a batik nyungging session, where you will discover the Awisan Dalem motif and create patterns on fabric. Terms & Conditions

  1. Age limit for participants is 15 years old and above
  2. The Abdi Dalem Experience activity will last for 5 hours starting from 8 AM to 1 PM
  3. Female participants are required to remove their hijab during the Abdi Dalem experience activity
  4. The additional cost for the Royal Lunch activity is Rp. 175,000,- per person with a duration of around 1 hour
  5. Participants are required to wear comfortable, sleeved clothes.
  6. ⁠Participants must not wear jewelry, except for earrings for women.
  7. Female participants are required to wear a camisole and tight pants.
  8. Male participants are required to wear an undershirt and shorts under their outer clothing.
  9. It is recommended to bring a tumbler and personal medication.
  10. All participants must comply with the applicable regulations.
  11. Within one session, participants might be merged with other participants as the maximum number is 20 people per session.
  12. Please do not bring large personal items.
  13. A maximum delay of 10 minutes are applied after the registration is closed at 8.15 AM.
